On modern or newly renovated roofs traditional clay verge caps bedded in mortar have now been replaced by mechanically fixed uPVC verge caps. uPVC is both rain-proof and UV resistant so will not be damaged by sunlight. Mechanical fixing to the roof timbers ensures that they are more secure in a storm. Shown here: charcoal grey verge caps lapping over black uPVC fascia.
